About The Maker

My name is Gabrielle and I'm the maker behind The Bathing Bee. I love making handmade anything and I'm a tinkerer by nature. My inspiration comes from nature and I try to weave it into my soap making. I love creating soap that is not just pretty, but is sustainable and healthy for your skin. One day while I was pregnant I noticed all the shampoo, conditioner and lotion bottles around the house. I started looking up the ingredients and told my husband I did not want to expose our baby to the known carcinogens in store bought soap. That's when I learned how to make soap and never looked back. I love making bar soap and even more so how it has reduced our need for plastic bottles in our home. I'm an over thinker by nature so I spend a lot of time thinking about the ingredients that go into each bar and every container. I strive to create products beyond what is mass produced in the stores and sold by the millions. I personally design, pour and label every soap, lotion and body product by hand and each and every item has its own unique energy. I use a lot of essential oils and hope to create a little calmness for you on the hectic days. Most of us do not take the time for ourselves these days. We must. It is so important for our well-being. It makes me happy to think that a simple bar of soap I made may help others get a few moments of calm. 

You've read this far, so I'll tell you a few things about me that have nothing to do with soap.

There's no doubt I'm an introvert. I love being home. I get all my energy from quiet places. I feel most grounded slugging through bug infested woods and going off trails. I love birds and the bees fascinate me. My husband and I are currently on a mission to have our own hives set up by next year. I am very blessed for the life and family we've created.
